I liveinthe Milano structurein Crescent Villagein North San Jose.As Silicon Valley unit complexesgo, the Crescent Villageisfairly normal. It’sgot swimming pools, tennis courts, the aptness center, the gaming room, the 23-seat film theater, and rounded off 1,750 apartments, widespread over 5 buildings.
Since wemovedin final month, wehavehad shrill parties, late-night hot-tubbing sessions, and in all concerned myselfinother, nefarious, un-neighborly behavior. I've even jaywalked.
Hundredsofother Google interns live here, butmy commercial operation label reigns autarchic over theirs. I've checked.
We Google internsarethe immature princesofthe Valley. We consequence large salaries, are shuttled in betweenour in isolation bulidingin Crescent Villageandthe Google campusin intemperate corporate buses, andare since giveaway washing services, gym memberships, and dancing lessons. Don't evengetmestartedonthe foodatthe Google cafes.
But we digress–backtomy home,in Crescent Village. My associate internsand we often secretethe prohibited tubsat nightfor parties, eveninthe centerofthe night. Securityis unabletostopus.
The neighbors often protestaboutthe shrill songand screams entrancefrommy unit lateat night.
But evenafter revelationthis, thereisno catharsis;my low mark continuesto evademe, and we benefitno deeper believeof myself.Nonew believecanbe extractedfrommy telling.
This admissionhas meant nothing.
